This is the greatest product of all. I have both the oil cooker and now the oil-less infrared turkey fryer. I won't be using the oil fryer anymore now. No oil to dispose of or oil fire to worry about, and the turkey was just as moist and good tasting. It cooked a 15lb turkey in about three hours and with no clean up! I would recommend the wireless pager also, I set it and go in the house and wait for the alarm to buzz. We also have the extra hanging basket that we cook potatoes and corn in. We have used the fryer for three turkeys a chicken and Christmas we are going to cook a prime rib in it. The temperature here has been below zero and it doesn't seem to effect the cooking time very much at all. It cooks turkey, chicken, roast, potatoes, even burgers and fish. My friend purchased one and I made him bring it to my parties and I just had to get my own. No clean-up, no oil to buy, food cooks quickly and the taste is incredible.

I've cooked three 15 lb turkeys since getting this cooker before Thanksgiving. All have come out perfect. I brined all three overnight, and inserted the thermometer in the thickest part of the breast during cooking. No un-cooked areas. I also did a traditionally fried turkey on Thanksgiving so we could do a taste test. You cannot duplicate the exact taste of a fried turkey with this cooker, but all agreed it tasted great. Even at twice the cook time of frying, this cooker uses much less propane as it is a low flame in an enclosed area. And no oil to deal with! I did two birds at Christmas. We then cooked down the carcasses into a stock that included the drippings from the bottom of the cooker, and made a great turkey gumbo. I recently cooked a couple of chickens, and will next try a pork loin. I may never fry a turkey again. It looks like my old rig will go back to just boiling crawfish. My only complaint is that it comes with a basket, and then Char-broil wants you to buy the hinged "Easy Out" basket as an accessory for $20.

They should have made the original basket an easy out. It is a pain trying to get a hot, 15 pound turkey out of the basket. Other than that, it was a great buy. It takes a little longer for your turkey to cook but my family thought this was the best bird we had eaten. The birds were juicy, flavorful, healthy and clean up is a snap. Thankfully, I experimented on a few chickens first. I was troubled by the results at first, but after a few attempts with positioning the birds differently ( can't have them too low in the basket ), I am very pleased with the results. Crispy and browned on the outside, but tender and moist on the inside. If a traditional fried turkey is a 100, this turkey was at least an 85-90. It can only get better with experience. So pleasant to clean it up in 3-4 minutes instead of dealing with the traditional oil. Saves over $20 every time you use it just because you don't have to buy the oil.

It took longer than frying, easier to clean up, I am ready to try something else in it. I cooked two small hens, probably 3.5-4 lbs. each, seasoned the birds with a dry rub I concocted and let them marinate in the fridge about four hours before I was ready to cook them.
